Understanding HDPE Plastic Thickness

A mil is its own unit of measurement, representing one thousandth of an inch. The HDPE plastic used in our root barriers is 100 mils thick, approximately the thickness of a pencil.

Durability and Longevity

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) was specifically engineered to endure both cold and hot climates. When installed away from direct sunlight, it boasts a projected lifespan of greater than 100 years, ensuring a long-lasting solution for protecting your home’s foundation.

Key Features of HDPE Barrier Roll

  • Length: Our HDPE barrier roll extends up to 80 linear feet without the need for a seam, providing continuous protection for an extended area.

  • Installation Process: Sections of the barrier are joined with brackets and screws, ensuring a secure and effective installation.

  • Height: Our root barriers are crafted from HDPE Roll Stock with a height of 3 feet, providing comprehensive coverage against invasive tree roots.

Guidelines for Root Barrier Placement

  • Distance from House: A minimum of 2 feet from the house is recommended, with 3 feet being preferable for optimal protection.

  • Distance from Trees: Maintain a minimum distance of 10 feet from trees, ideally allowing 1 foot per each inch of the tree’s diameter.

Ensuring Effective Root Barrier Placement

Proper placement is essential for the effectiveness of root barriers. Adhering to these guidelines ensures the strategic installation of HDPE barriers, redirecting tree roots away from vulnerable areas.
